Hello everyone. Gearbits: raider expedition launches today. The raider expedition is a DLC expansion campaign, that adds new story content to Gearbits.

The expansion adds ten new story missions, which take place after the main game, with a new cast of characters. The expansion adds six new maps, which are available in the wave battle mode as well. The expansion also adds new playable units. 

You can get the expansion right now on Steam. 

If you aren’t buying the expansion, there’s still some new stuff for you. There is a new patch that adds features to the base game, owning the DLC is not necessary for these.

• There’s a new playable unit. The Cygnys-R type. You can find it, by pressing the toggle list button in the unit selection screen.
• The option to change your livery has been added. If the chosen unit has optional colourings, you can change them by pressing the “livery” button in the weapon selection screen. 
• There’s now a model viewer. This let’s you take a closer look at the robot models. You can find the model viewer in the base exchange menu. 

Early reviews and feedback for the expansion have been very positive. I hope that you’ll like it as well. I definitely feel like I was able to take the lessons learned while making the base game, and use them to take the expansion to a higher level. Also. Today it has been exactly a year since Gearbits launched. Pretty wild to think about that. I wasn’t even sure if anyone would play the game. But how lucky! People did play the game, and here I am, one year later, releasing an expansion.

The game isn’t a smash hit. But there’s a dedicated community. Thank you very much to all the players. Gearbits has been slowly gathering players over the last year. Who knows, maybe it will be a smash hit some day? Still, for now, I’m just happy that the few who played it, liked the game.
